This picture isn't taken in exactly the right spot, but you get the idea. Rabbits live. Dunes live. Marble butterfly lives. Endemic plants live. Prairie?  Well, that's another story, still open to discussion. If it means poisoning the existing meadows to clear them and then plant imported plugs to create a prairie that may or may not ever have been there...well...sounds like a toxic landscaping project...

For now, let's agree to save the rabbits on the dune side, where there is still one active warren.  email Superintendent Peter Dederich if you like this plan.  He probably won’t have time to answer individual emails, but he will read and consider them when drafting his proposal to the regional director, Chris Lehnertz.
